Homemade Bagels

Ingredients:

- 4 cups bread flour.

- 1 ½ tsp sugar.

- 2 tsp salt.

- 1 tbsp vegetable oil.

- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast.

- 1½ cups warm water.

Directions:

1- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water, then let the mixture sit for 10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

2- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and oil with the yeast mixture. Knead by hand until a smooth dough forms.

3- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for one hour, or until it has doubled in size.

4- Divide the dough into 8 balls and shape them into round bagels.

5- Boil the bagels in water for one minute on each side, then arrange them on a baking sheet.

6- Bake at 425°F (218°C) for 20–25 minutes.
