10 home remedies that heal cracked heels in less than a week

Cracked heels also known as heel fissures, are a very common problem nowadays. There are a number of causes leading to cracked heels which includes dry heels, prolonged standing, wearing improper shoes, lack of moisturization, an unhealthy diet, aging, or suffering from some kinds of diseases, such as eczema, diabetes, psoriasis, corns and calluses.

These remedies are prepared using readily available ingredients in the kitchen. Below we have mentioned some of the effective home remedies for your treating cracked heels..

Vaseline and lemon juice:
Soak your feet in warm water for 15-20 minutes. Rinse, and pat dry. Mix 3–4 drops of lemon juice to 1 tsp of Vaseline and apply to your heels and other cracked parts of your feet. Wear cotton socks and cover it overnight.

Sesame oil:

Apply sesame oil to your heels and other cracked parts of your feet and massage for a minute or two. Cover it with clean socks and leave it on overnight. Repeat this for a few days until the cracks in your heels are gone completely.

Rosewater and glycerin:

Mix equal amounts of glycerin and rose water thoroughly and rub it on your heels and feet daily before going to bed at night. Keep it on overnight and wash off in the morning.

Rice flour:

Mix a handful of ground rice with a 2 tsps of honey and 2-3 drops of apple cider vinegar. Stir well to form a thick paste. Soak your feet in lukewarm water for 10 minutes and then gently scrub using the rice flour paste. Repeat the process a few times a week. At night when you sleep, rub some coconut oil on your heels.

Lemons:
Soak your feet in warm water with 4 tbsps of lime juice for about 15 minutes. Scrub your cracked heels using a pumice stone. Rinse and pat dry. Apply a moisturiser.

Honey:
Honey has moisturizing and antibacterial properties, that help heal cracked feet. Add one cup of honey to a tub filled with warm water. Soak your feet in the water for 15 to 20 minutes. Massage your feet gently. Do this daily or several times a week until you get the desired results.

Epsom salt:

Mix ½ cup of Epsom salt in a tub filled with warm water. Soak your feet in this solution for about 15 minutes. Scrub to remove dead skin.

Banana:
Ripe banana is one of the most effective home remedies for treating cracked and dry heels because of its moisturizing properties. Mash 2 ripe bananas into a smooth paste and add 2 tsp glycerine. Gently rub the paste all over your feet and wash after 1 hour. Apply a layer of glycerine and wear socks.

Baking soda:
Add 3 tbsps of baking soda in a bucket full of warm water. Mix well until the baking soda dissolves in the water. Soak your feet in the solution for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove your feet from the soak and scrub gently with pumice stone. Rinse with clean water, pat dry, and moisturize.

Aloe vera gel:
Soak your feet in warm water for a few minutes. Rinse and pat dry. Apply a thick layer of aloe vera gel to the feet and wear a pair of socks. Leave it overnight.
