Garlic Breadsticks

Ingredients:

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour.
- 2 ¼ tsp baking powder .
- ¾ cup yogurt.
- 1 tbsp softened unsalted butter.
- ¾ tsp salt.
- ¼ tsp baking soda.

Finishing ingredients:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter.
- 2 cloves garlic, finely grated.
- Generous pinch fine salt.
- 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese.

Directions:
1- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F with a rack in the upper third of the oven. Line a sheet pan with and lightly spray with nonstick spray.

2- Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda together in a medium bowl.

3- Add the yogurt and butter and mix with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.

4- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured work surface and knead for 2 minutes or until the surface is smooth and the dough is homogeneous. If the dough is very sticky, knead in an additional tablespoon of flour at a time.

5- Flatten into a disk and divide into 8 wedges.

6- Lightly spray the work surface and hands with nonstick cooking spray. Roll each wedge into a 6-inch rope and place on the sheet pan, spacing the breadsticks evenly apart.

7- Bake in the upper third of the oven for 20 minutes or until springy to the touch and golden. Rotating the pan front to back halfway through.

8- Switch the oven to broil and broil until desired level of golden brown is achieved, 30 to 60 seconds. Remove the breadsticks from the oven.

9- Place the butter, garlic and salt in a small saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until the butter melts and the garlic just begins to sizzle. Immediately remove from the heat and brush the garlic butter over the just-baked breadsticks and sprinkle with the Parmesan and serve.
