Fruit and vegetable peels that can do wonders to your skin

If you throw away vegetable and fruit peels, you are actually discarding ingredients full of nutrition that can do wonders to your skin. Peels are jam-packed with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that are great for the skin and are free from harmful chemicals too.

1- Yam peel mask
Say goodbye to your tanned skin by applying yam peel mask once a week as it has skin whitening properties.

2- Orange peel mask
Orange peels have high Vitamin C content than the fruit. Make a paste of yogurt, honey and orange peel in the blender. Apply the pack on clean, dry skin. Allow it to sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. Wash your face with water and pat dry.

3-Tomato peel mask
Tomatoes are packed with antioxidants that help in removing blemishes from your skin. Just apply tomato peels on your face daily for a week for immediate results. They are also acidic in nature and this makes them a great skin cleanser.

4- Radish peel mask
Radish peel are loaded with Vitamin B6 and are great against skin blemishes. Puree the peels with a little honey and apply on the skin regularly.

5- Potato peel mask
Blend potato peels by adding 1 tbsp of water to it. Rub potato peel all over your face. Appply this mixture on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash you face and pat dry. Use it once or twice a week for lightening your complexion and for a healthy glow.

6- Papaya peel mask
Rubbing papaya peel directly on you skin helps in exfoliating the skin. It removes dead cells from the skin and tighens it. Being rich in Vitamin C, it has anti-ageing properties.

7- Lemon peel mask
Blend together lemon peel and honey, until it becomes a smooth paste. Apply the paste on clear skin, and leave it on for half an hour. Wash and pat dry. This is great for discolouration of the skin, suntan, blemishes and unwanted facial hair as lemon acts as a great bleaching agent.

8- Bitter gourd peel mask
Do you know that bitter gourd is rich in Vitamin C and anti-oxidants, making it a great anti-ageing element. It also fights acne.

9- Beetroot peel mask
If you want to get rosy cheeks, rub beetroot peels on your cheeks for 15 minutes and see the magic. It can also act as a natural lipstick. Puree it and add some glycerine. Your DIY lip balm is ready.

10- Banana peel mask
Bananas are rich in Vitamin B and A which makes them a perfect skin tonic. Mash banana peels and add an egg yolk and make a paste. Massage gently on your face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water then pat dry. This works as a skin tightening mask.
