Deep fried breads

Ingredients:
- 1 kg all-purpose flour.
- 1 tsp dried active yeast.
- 1 egg, beaten.
- 1 can 7 Up.
- 1 tsp salt.
- Water, as required.

Directions:
- Place the flour in a bowl and combine with the yeast and salt.
- Add the beaten egg and mix to combine.
- Add the full can of 7 Up, and mix.
- Add more water as required and knead vigorously to achieve a smooth dough.
- Cover the bowl and place in a warm area for about an hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Separate the dough into 10 evenly sized balls.
- Roll each ball into a circle about 5 mm thick.
- Allow the rolled circles to rest a while.
- Heat the oil in a large deep frying pan, over a medium-high heat.
- Fry the bhaturas one at a time, very carefully. You will know that you have achieved the perfect temperature when the bread puffs within a few seconds.
- When it’s golden brown on one side, flip and fry the other.
- Drain the bhaturas on kitchen paper and then serve with your favourite curry.
