Al faiech
Ingredients:
- 1 kg flour.
- 1 cup gee or margarine.
- ½ cup warm milk.
- Warm milk to
knead.
- 1 tbsp
turmeric.
- 1 tbsp sugar.
- 2 tbsp active
dry yeast.
- A pinch of
salt.
Directions:
- Add yeast
and sugar to ½ cup warm milk, and mix until dissolved.
- Add flour
salt
and turmeric, and mix well.
- Add the
gee,
and knead.
- Gradually add
the warm milk, and knead well until dough is a good consistency with a homogeneous texture. Let it
sit
for 1 hour.
- Roll the
dough into a cylinder loaves, and let it rise for 1 hours,
they should double in size.
- Bake in the
oven for 25 to 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
- Cut the
loaves
into medium thickness slices; place it in a baking tray.
- Bake
the slices again in the oven for a few minutes until dried and by crunchy.
